Exhibition “Children draw fairy tales”

June 30 – July 31, 2009      

An exhibition “Children draw fairy tales” was organized in the limits of the international project “Dialogue through culture” and it was coincided with the III Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional religions. Its opening entered on the list of the cultural program of the Congress Secretariat.
      The Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was glad to open its doors for that exhibition. The exposition basis is the drawings of the children from the countries participating in Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and the subject is the fairy tales of neighbour states. It was initiative of the Secretariat of SCO to organize it among the children in order to progress of tolerance, respect to the culture of other nations. One of the important factors of the exhibition is to introduce children with the traditions and customs of other countries.
      The organizers of the exhibition became the Secretariat of SCO, Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow), Mardjani foundation (RF), the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC “The foundation of the intellectual development of RK” of Ministry of culture and information of RK, Children art school - UNESCO club (Astana).
      The guests of the exhibition had the opportunity to visit the studio of the young artist at the parade-ground of the Museum, to see the appearance of the dancing ensemble “Baiterek” of M. Utemisov Palace of school children’s creation, the youth musicians of Kazakh National music academy and the Children music school №2.
      Speeches of welcome at the opening ceremony were made by the representative of UNICEF in Kazakhstan Mrs. Hanaa Singer, the author of the project, the senior fellow of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts Mrs. Zakharova I., the representative of Mardjani foundation Mr. Zargishiev M. and the Director of the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Sagyngali.
      The organizers of the project had one goal – to strengthen the international harmony and tolerance in the society, bring up the children respect to other nations, their cultures and religions. The participation of the Secretariat of the III Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional religions, representatives of UNICEF and SCO in the opening ceremony was the evidence of community of ideas, uniting the authoritative international organizations and forums.
