Photo exhibition «Changing Japan. Works of the Japanese authors of the end of the 20th century»

     The lecture of the Japanese photographer Mr. Ryuji Miyamoto and the exhibition «Changing Japan. Works of the Japanese authors of the end of the 20th century» took place at the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. That exhibition was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Kazakhstan within the limits of two international projects: project of the Japan Foundation and Museum’s one – «Dialogue through culture».
     The Japan Foundation is a specialized public organization founded in 1972 with the purpose of promoting international understanding through arts and cultural exchange between Japan and foreign states. One of their visual arts programs is organizing traveling exhibitions with artworks from their own collection throughout the world. Photo exhibition «Changing Japan. Works of the Japanese authors of the end of the 20th century» was presented in 21 states and 32 cities of the world. The organizers of the exhibition hope that through these photographers’ unique views of society and landscape, the viewers will gain a better understanding of the myriad changes that took place in Japan between the period of rapid economic growth and the present days.
   The exposition was composed of two sections and includes 76 photographs of 23 Japanese photographers. Within the exhibition was presented the collection of photos «Japan through the eyes of Kazakhstan people» – personal pictures of Kazakhstan citizens made during visit of Japan and flash exhibition of the Japanese schoolchildren.
